There are many things that inspire Olympic athletes, Sir Chris Hoy famously spoke about how he was first inspired to get on a bike after watching the classic movie ET, whilst Dame Kelly Holmes was inspired by Sebastian Coe, the middle distance runner in the 1984 Olympics.
Chris said: "I don't really have any one specific person that inspires me for The Olympics as such, it's more of a personal thing I'd like to achieve. I train with a lot of successful people with multiple Olympic medals combined, this is probably one of the biggest things that inspires me, makes me hungry for success and want to join the list.
I'd love to one day compete in an Olympics, I'm disappointed it's not going to be this time but I'm happy to have gotten so close. I was lucky enough to be a contender for both the Omnium and Team Pursuit events. Hopefully with hard work and determination I will still be a contender in another 4 years. It would be a dream to go to the Olympics, soak in the atmosphere and achieve an Olympic medal. This is one of the biggest achievements in sport and is recognised globally.
Following an Olympic medal, I would love to try and get a sports centre or something named after me in Bolton like 'The Jason Kenny Centre'. It would be great to be able to inspire young people in my home town to compete in sport and work hard to achieve their goals the way I have."
